The very hilly heart of the island hides marvellous waterfalls.

The east of the island, very wet, abounds in beautiful waterfalls,
particularly in Salazie, where the most famous waterfall is named Le Voile de la MariΘe
(The bride's veil).
There are also the impressive falls of Takamaka, that provide nearly the whole island with electricity.
The western coast also has its charming waterfalls. The Cormorans at l'Eperon (on St Paul's heights)are
an heavenly place for a family walk.
